Why Does My Skin Itch After Going To The Tanning?

Many people use tanning booths for years in order to maintain a year round all over tan. Recently many new techniques have been devised to counter the attack on the dangers of this sun worship craze because the rates of skin cancer are on the increase.

Spray tanning is the latest of these and is becoming very popular as a safe method which produces excellent results without the danger. Originally it was the creams and bronzing lotions that were the most commonly used but spraying the tan on gives a more professional finish.

Why Does My Skin Itch

Manufacturers, quick to join the rush, have produced home spray tanning systems. Whilst there are different ways to provide an alternative tan, the way to achieve it and make it longer lasting are the same.

Cleaning the dead skin off your body is the most important step using a proprietary exfoliation scrub which can be bought from any drugstore. This can stop the situation where dead skin cells gradually drop off leaving paler patches of skin which immediately tells people you have a fake tan.
Once that stage has been carried out it is best to apply a moisturizer to your whole body.

A common problem especially in the early days of self tanning creams, although it doesn’t happen quite as much now, was to forget to wear gloves when applying the tan which meant that the palms turned orange and let everyone know the tan was a fake.
All your joints i.e. knuckles, elbows, knees and ankles will need to be given a lighter coat as these areas will appear much darker and everyone will know what you have been doing! When a spray tanning system is used a towel will be needed to wipe off any excess which could cause a streak.

Once the tanning agent (whatever type you have used) has been applied you will need to have somewhere to relax and not move while the coating dries or small smear marks might occur.

Remember that these agents aren’t prejudiced and will tan clothes just as well as they do your skin, so be careful when choosing what you wear afterwards.

You should choose something dark and also maybe something you don’t particularly care for until the excess is worn off. To get the most from your artificial tan, follow these guidelines and you won’t go far wrong.
